The duel between the host and South Korea at the Parc des Princes opened a month of women's football unchecked, in which 24 teams will seek to win the title of world champion . French and South Korean are part of the first group (A) of this edition along with Nigeria and Norway. There will be five other groups of four selections. The best two of each group plus the best four of group stage will go to eighths.
Spain occupies the second group with Germany, South Africa and China. Germans and Asians represent the greatest danger, especially the first ones. World Champions in 2003 and 2007, the German team is one of the favorites to be in the final on July 7 in Lyon. Those of Jorge Vilda debutaron with note in this edition, with a historical comeback against South Africa and have closer their goal. In the previous one, Canada 2015, they were eliminated in the group stage, so overcoming this round will be the first major goal of the Red.
